Music On Film In Huntington
The Cinema Arts Centre in Huntington has been putting on Rock Legends Live, evenings of rare music clips hosted by film archivist Bill Shelley. After presenting The Beatles in July and The Who in August (nice start!), on Tuesday, September 22nd, at 7:30pm, Motown Revue will be featured.
Acoustic Sunday Afternoons
The Stony Brook University Café Acoustic Series returns this fall hosted by Charlie Backfish, the host of Sunday Street, heard Sunday mornings on WUSB (90.1). Some of the shows already announced include Buskin & Batteau on October 4th, Willie Nile on October 18th, John Wesley Harding on November 8th, Ellis Paul on November 29th, and Elliot Murphy on December 6th. All shows are at 2pm.
Alan Semerdjian Takes The Big Beauty On The Road
Alan Semerdjian has the followup to his 2005 debut, The Big Beauty out, produced by Mike Bloom, who has worked with Rilo Kiley. He will be playing on September 25th at The Living Room in Manhattan at 9pm (check out http://www.alansemerdjian.com for details). Along with other artists, he is doing a “secret” charity show at The Cup in Wantagh on Friday, September 12, at 7pm. Other artists on the bill include Rorie Kelly, Carol Thomas, John Flor, Brian Sendrowitz, Easy Anthems, Akiva, Jay Reilly, and more.
