East Patchogue resident Lori Benincasa has been elected President of the Board of Directors of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation’s Long Island chapter. Benincasa has been active with JDRF for 14 years and is currently the Director of Health Education for the Suffolk County Department of Health. She has firsthand experience of the challenges of living with diabetes; Benincasa and her two daughters have a rare form of the disease. http://www.jdrf.org.
