Greetings to all Long Island Brewoids!
Welcome to the first entry of Super Neat Beer Adventure, Yes!!, Long Island Pulse’s newest blog.
This blog will serve as an extension of The Red Zone, a monthly feature found in Pulse—and penned by emperor wordsmith, Niko Krommydas, ahem—that gives props to all of the drinking establishments found on our Island of Long.
Super Neat Beer Adventure, Yes!! will travel several drunken, wobbly steps further than The Red Zone, and will provide more frequent, thorough and up-to-date information in the realm of Lawn Guyland beer.
Here’s a portion of what to expect from Super Neat Beer Adventure, Yes!!:
• Bar/Beverage Center/Brewery Tastings, Updates and Visits: since I do split my time between Long Island and Manhattan/Brooklyn, I will occasionally feature venues within the five boroughs, as well.
• Event Previews/Reviews
• Interviews: ranging from brew master to bar owner to intoxicated townie in flannel eating peanuts off the floor.
• Other: includes (but not limited to) artistic doodles, rare draught locations, results of attempt to successfully create peanut butter beer, bottle spotlights, intoxicated ramblings, keystroke parades (example: fksdfjdssdf! adf\b\“`~dsfjfisd!), postings of complaints from people fallen ill after tasting poorly-produced peanut butter beer, tap grades, etc.
I could have easily summed up the above categories with “everything beer,” instead, but where’s the fun in minimal vocabulary?
Nowhere—that’s where.
Look for our first formal post in the next week, and expect a review of the Brooklyn Brewery tour I shall be taking for my birthday in late-November.
Toodles.
