Re: Stuntman Manny Siverio
Thank you for such a great article. I am also a professional stuntman and think that was the best explanation of what it is Stunt Coordinators and stunt players do and how important they are to the final product. I believe the category will one day have its day as an Oscar no doubt. It will be the most explosive and dynamic Oscar ceremony ever!

Re: Dead Woman Running
I remember reading about Jo’Anna Bird’s murder and I still can’t believe how easily her death could have been avoided. Multiple orders of protection, actually catching the guy trying to break in her house and simply telling him to walk away instead of dragging him to jail. WHAT?! Even after she was murdered, the police seemed to up the ante on the incompetence scale. One the one hand, Commissioner “Mulvey confirmed that police removed Bird and laid her in front of the house.” WHAT?! They dropped her dead body out on the lawn?! Does that sound crazy to anyone else? But then “The Medical Examiner’s report includes a statement that paramedics removed Bird ‘to a stretcher in the ambulance, and she went on to expire’” Someone (everyone?) is lying here.

Re: Dead Woman Running
What a tragic story. It ends with the accused asking a reporter not to make him look like a monster or an animal. “Pito,” let me just say, all due respect to the whole innocent until proven guilty, but someone who stalks, tortures and murders the mother of his child, or anyone for that matter, is a f#@&ing animal.

Interviews with Robert Redford and Carly Simon in the same issue. That’s what us old timers reporters call “good gets.” Way to go Pulse.
