Guitar virtuoso Jeff Beck is teaming up with contemporary artists with his latest Emotion & Commotion. Singer Joss Stone guests on the Screamin’ Jay Hawkins blues classic “I Put a Spell on You” and each let fly emotional, intense, impressive runs on their respective instruments.

A wide-ranging collaboration takes place on the eclectic legend David Byrne and electronica practitioner Fatboy Slim’s double album Here Lies Love. Indie/electronica singer Santigold guests on the track “Please Don’t” wherein she vocalizes social commentary atop a track of quirky dance-pop that is a seamless mix of Byrne and Slim’s styles.

Jakob Dylan, striking out on his own from his band The Wallflowers, has just released his 2nd longplayer, Women and Country, and that appellation is correct. On the track “Nothing But the Whole Wide World” are deep, heartfelt vocals and pleasant intertwining country instrumentation.
