14th Annual B.E.E.R. Brew-Off Competition

For those of you who brew at home and may be interested in submitting your work to be judged by some professionals in the industry, the Brewer’s East End Revival (B.E.E.R.) is now accepting entries for their 14th Annual Brew-Off Homebrew Competition on Saturday, 5/15.

The submission period will last until Saturday, 5/8, and will cost only $6.00 to enter.

Here is an excerpt about the competition from the B.E.E.R. website (http://beerhbc.org):

“This is the premier Home Brewer’s Competition on Long Island and is an AHA/BJCP sanctioned event. All beers will be judged according to the 2008 BJCP Style guidelines. Ribbons will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in all categories, and also for Best of Show. The Brewer’s Cup will awarded to the best Commercial example as judged by our guest professional Brewers and the winner will have their beer brewed at a local Brew Pub.

Judging begins a 10:00 am. The doors will be open to the public at 4:00pm for the Best of Show, Brewer’s Cup and the Awards Ceremony. Brewerania will be raffled, great homebrews will be on tap, a Chili Cook-off contest, good fun and music are all included. Come on down and show your support for the craft of Homebrewed Beer.”
