Invoking the flux and freedom of electronic music, the couple pairs their cultural sensibilities—Korean and Bulgarian—to create works that are timely, but also timeless. An elaborate dance, both in the nature of their creation and in the melding of colors that seem to continue in movement long after drying to the panel, viewers experience a fugue conducted by the authors. Ancient practices of Asian and Balkan techniques are not cast off for modernity’s sake. Instead they are referred to as guides. The improvisation brings forth an intuitive celebration of life. Colors of the seasons and natural surroundings bring already joyful works one step closer to the sublime.
