We mentioned Blue Point Brewing Company’s latest brew, Toxic Sludge, at the beginning of August, but this Tuesday evening at Bobbique sees its official release.

Classified as a Black IPA/Cascadian Dark Ale (darker in appearance than a normal IPA, but retaining most of its characteristics, like hop profile, for example) and created to help raise money for Tri-State Bird Rescue, a Delaware-based rescue and rehabilitation organization involved with birds that have been hurt by oil spills, Toxic Sludge receives the first-ever “OMG FTW Award” — not because of its taste, since I have yet to consume some, but simply because of its name.

Yep. TOXIC SLUDGE. Sounds like a slice of grime pie prepared by some Goo-oid creature that, if tasted, would cause the growth of a third nipple.

Sludging starts at 8:00PM.
