The Cortland, an all-New York craft beer bar and eatery located on Bay Shore’s Main St. strip, celebrates its official grand opening (invite only) tonight between 7:00PM – 9:00PM with a free open bar and menu sampling.

Named after a luxurious Main St. hotel that operated during the early 1900s but was later closed and torn down, The Cortland will focus on local drinks and eats, from spiked milkshakes using Bay Shore’s Coyles Ice Cream, to specialty cheese plates courtesy of Sayville’s American Cheese.

In terms of beer, expect an extensive bottle list of New York-only breweries and a two tap draft system with Great South Bay Brewery’s Hoppocratic Oath (only one of two bars serving the Oath, with The Good Life being the other) and Greenport Harbor Brewing Company’s Leaf Pile Ale as the starting tag team.

The grand opening for the general public will take place on Friday, 10/29 from 10:00PM – 11:30PM. All are welcome, but space is limited, so be sure to head down a bit early to guarantee admission.

Super Neat won’t be able to attend any of these opening events, but expect a visit to and report on The Cortland in the next week or so.
