Hooters

Think about owls. Think about owls. Think about owls. Ahem. One of three Long Island locations (Farmingdale and Islandia round out the trio), featuring UFC events offered at no cover, as well as beer and wings served by lovely lady waitresses with… Think about owls. Think about owls. Think about owls.

Mulcahy’s Pub & Concert Hall
(516) 783-7500, Wantagh
muls.com

Two events: “1st Annual Craft & International Beer Expo” and “The Return of Bret Michaels.” Both were recently hosted at Mulcahy’s Pub & Concert Hall. One event featured samples of such craft beer players as Founders, Blue Point, 21st Amendment, Kelso and more. The other? Bandanas and over-manicured eyebrows. Whatever your liking is?and honestly, let’s hope it’s not the latter?expect it at Mulcahy’s.

Willy Parkers American Bar & Grill
(516) 750-8125, Williston Park
willyparkers.com

Willy closed for a bit, but now Willy is back open and under new ownership. That means Willy can play now. Willy also has friends. His friends are over twenty tap lines and a full menu with late night eats. We love Willy’s friends. And Willy. Of course we love Willy.

The Lark Pub & Grub
(631) 262-9700, East Northport
thelarkpubandgrub.com

One of my favorite beer bars in Suffolk County. And not because its name bears a similarity to that of my best friend and fellow craft enthusiast, Scott Larkin. It’s because Green Flash Double Stout and Pretty Things Beer & Ale Project Saint Botolph’s Town (on draft at time of visit) are served there, and I like to drink those drinks. A lot. Recent beer-themed din-din collaborations with Ithaca Brewing Company (their first ever event) and Great South Bay Brewery were quite successful, so keep an eyeball peeled for the future, at least on a monthly basis.

Horace & Sylvia’s Publick House
(631) 587-5081, Babylon Village
horaceandsylvia.com

Some examples of the “NEW” Horace & Sylvia’s Publick House include recently hired Executive Chef Brian Fugit’s revamped menu and beer pairings with Speakeasy Ales & Lagers and Weihenstephan.

Grey Horse Tavern
(631) 472-1868, Bayport
greyhorsetavern.com

BINGO! And not the Sunday afternoon, rice pudding servin’, geriatric ward patient facility bingo, either. Grey Horse Tavern?formerly a stagecoach stop, a speakeasy, a restaurant and a train station waiting room (though not simultaneously, cue sadface)?is all about the Thursday night, cash prize, stocked bar bingo. And that’s the one I really like to play-o.
