Stony Brook’s Kevin Crowley is up for the Division I Men’s Lacrosse Preseason Player of the Year honors.
Lacrosse Magazine is conducting a fall poll to determine the winner. Crowley is up against Manhasset native Billy Bitter of North Carolina, Smithtown native Rob Pannell of Cornell and Joel White of Syracuse.
The 2010 United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association’s (USILA) Enners Award winner, given to the nation’s top Division I men’s lacrosse player, Crowley had one of the best seasons by a Stony Brook lacrosse player. He recorded 51 goals and 26 assists to earn America East Player of the Year honors.
He was also a Tewaaraton Award finalist and his 51 goals are a single-season program record. He’s the only player in school history in the top five in goals (101) and assists (75). Crowley is just 26 points shy of the all-time record of 201.
