I heart Red Hook, Brooklyn’s Sixpoint Craft Ales because:

a) my favorite professional wrestler of all-time, former Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW) and current Total Nonstop Action (TNA) color commentator, Taz, is also from the Red Hook section of Brooklyn, New York

b) oodles and caboodles of creativity and experimentation are implemented within the microbrewery’s portfolio, whether it be for classic flagships (see: Sweet Action), or random, exclusive, ultra-rare, one time brew projects developed specifically for, well, something or someone (see: Lil’ Frankie’s Ale for Lower East Side pizzeria Lil’ Frankie’s).

Sixpoint John Dory Oyster Stout (pictured above, courtesy of Off The Presses), a stout filtered through 50 lbs. of crushed oyster shells and custom-brewed for the reopening of Manhattan oyster bar The John Dory, is a fine example of “b.” Wantagh Beverage was able to snag one barrel of Sixpoint John Dory Oyster Stout?only thirty were produced in total, according to owner Michael Schwartzman, who described the stout as “very briny”?and wants to share the happy fun oyster time with you.

Yes, you.

Growlers available for a limited time.
