Park Slope, Brooklyn craft spot The Gate hosts an evening of vintage Southampton Ales and Lagers goodies at 7:00PM in remembrance of “one of our very first events ever, 1997, when we had 3 (!) Southampton brews on and Phil Markowski in the house!,” according to their website.

Here is tonight’s list, as well as an amusing anecdote via The Gate’s Facebook pertaining to a certain discovery by Southampton Ales and Lagers head brewer Markowski and brand ambassador Spencer Niebuhr:

Double White
Keller Helles
Saison Deluxe
Trappist IPA
Imperial Porter
Russian Imperial Stout
Old Herb Barley Wine
Grand Cru 2005
Yorkshire Pub Ale (Nitro)
Abbot 12 2003 (SERIOUS!)
Cuvee des Fleurs 2006

“In digging around the Southampton Cellar for this event Spencer and Phil came across a well buried keg of Grand Cru they brewed back in 2005. Attached was a ‘haggard note’ with the words “SAVE FOR GATE”. Now how ’bout that?”
