Hofstra’s Charles Jenkins was one of 30 players selected to the midseason list for the 2010-11 Naismith Award, announced today by the Atlanta Tip-Off Club.
“We are extremely excited that Charles was selected to the midseason 30 list for the Naismith Award,” said Hofstra coach Mo Cassara. “This is a tremendous honor for Charles to have his name mentioned among the best players in the country. He has played at such an extraordinarily high level all season long, and we are thrilled that the Atlanta Tipoff Club has recognized his accomplishments.”
Jenkins currently ranks sixth in the country with 23.4 points per game, while shooting 54.3 percent from the floor.
His 2,351 career points rank first in Hofstra history, first among active players in the country, and leave him 149 away from becoming the 61st player in NCAA history to score 2,500.
