Barrier Brewing wins TAP, Bierkraft Pictures/Review, Firkin Friday

Congratulations to Barrier Brewing Company, winner of the F.X. Matt Memorial Cup: Best Brewery in New York State at the 2011 TAP New York Craft Beer and Food Festival last Saturday in Hunter, NY!

About one week prior (4/21) to the two-day festival and statewide brewery competition, Bierkraft hosted a Barrier Brewing Company tap takeover with Evan Klein and Craig Frymark in attendance to discuss product and greet peoples.

Super Neat attended with crew to sample recent releases like Oil City IPA, Mare Undarum Belgian IPA, and Spelunker, a burnt toast-colored saison of light pepper grain and earth funk, blanketed by dry, roasted malts.

If the above two tidbitties gotcha hankerin’ for some Oceanside craft beer, The Cortland will celebrate Barrier’s TAP victory on Friday, 5/6 with a special “First Friday Firkin” at 6:00PM.

A redhead will unleash.
