Greenport Harbor Brewing Company transported its phattest freight to date, 14 kegs and 2 casks, to Bierkraft on Thursday for a temporary draft hijack.
Phatness included the debut of Citrus IPA, the fifth release from Project Hoppiness; a dry-hopped cask of English IPA with Tettnang; a dry-hopped cask of Canard Noir with Cascade; and Green Forest Kitchen Sink, a collabo-brew between DJ Swanson and Joseph Hayes, head brewers of Greenport and Black Forest Brew Haus, respectively.
Scheduled for release during Long Island Craft Beer Week, Kitchen Sink is a semi-spiced brown ale brewed with rye malt and Ahtanum hops and fermented using a lager yeast strain at ale temperatures (see: California Common).
The brew was temporarily shelved when Greenport Harbor’s five-course dinner at Black Forest on 5/22 was cancelled.
