Opening Reception July 7, 7-9pm

On Thursday, July 7th from 7-9pm, Greenport Harbor Brewing Company will proudly host an opening reception for their latest exhibit: WHEELS ON ART. Most North Fork photographers take advantage of the LI Sound, Peconic Bay, countless vineyards, sunsets and barns to point their lens. Not local renegade artist George Schneider.

This artist’s brilliant eye and visionary perspective give us an opportunity to experience a vibrant subculture that surprisingly exists today throughout the United States. Schneider’s work connects us once again to the reminiscent grit and glamour of pre 1960 Hot Rods, Betty Page like pin up girls and tattooed barbers. “Wheels on Art” showcases an exclusive Hot Rod Club based in Brooklyn, NY. The photographer blurs the line of this bygone era while introducing us to an enviable current generation of motor heads, wiggle dresses, rockabilly music and fashion. This photography exhibit encompasses a nostalgic look at the past with an unexpected romantically raw look at the future.

This show will run through 7/31/2011

Greenport Harbor Brewing Company is the first and only brewery on the scenic North Fork of Long Island.
