2011 North Fork Craft Beer, Wine & BBQ Festival Review (Lots o’ Pumpkins)

Starfish Junction Productions hosted the North Fork Craft Beer, Wine & BBQ Festival at Martha Clara Vineyards on Saturday, 8/13.

The fifth annual event, which sold out both its VIP and General Admission sessions prior to start time, showcased over 50 craft breweries, local and non-local, alongside wineries and barbecue-themed eats.

Super Neat’s “Like” included Blind Bat Brewery Honey-Basil Ale, released under their limited farm-and-garden series, which emphasizes the use of local, seasonal ingredients (Honey-Basil Ale incorporates honey from High Meadow Farm in Huntington); Port Jefferson Brewing Company Big Boy Root Beer, a fusion of organic sarsaparilla, ginger roots, and wintergeen and vanilla extracts; and Captain Lawrence Brewing Company Captain’s Kolsh.

The festival also featured the season-releases of several autumnal beers, such as Weyerbacher Brewing Company Imperial Pumpkin Ale, Greenport Harbor Brewing Company Leaf Pile Ale, Blue Point Brewing Company Pumpkin Ale, and Great South Bay Brewery Splashing Pumpkin Ale.
