Moulson Earns NHL Star of the Week

Here’s an occasional bright spot for the Islanders … The National Hockey League announced that Islanders forward Matt Moulson has been named the First Star of the Week for the period ending Sunday, Dec. 4.

Moulson, 28, scored six goals and added one assist in three games last week to help the Islanders to a 2-0-1 record. He finished the week with the league’s first four-goal game of the season Saturday in Dallas, extending his goal-scoring streak to four games.

Moulson leads all Islanders with 13 goals and ranks third on the team with 19 points. His plus-2 rating and three game-winning goals are also team highs. Last season, Moulson posted his second-straight 30-goal season with the Islanders, finishing with 31 goals and 22 assists.
