REQUIESCAT IN PACE.
Tony McGinley, former proprietor of Runyon’s Roadside Tavern, established Jake’s Steakhouse’s second location with Margaret Ryan, who opened its initial space (Bronx) in 2001. Managed by Michael McGinley, nephew of Tony, and culinary-ed by Rick Laakkonen, of Les Pres d’Eugenie and Ilo, Jake’s Steakhouse hand-selects each piece of Schuyler, Nebraska-raised meat prior to a mandatory wet-aging minimum of 28 days. (The bone-in rib eye, for example, is also dry-aged for 35 days.)
To accompany animal, Jake’s Steakhouse features 14 drafts, including Captain Lawrence Brewing Company Fresh Chester Pale Ale, Fire Island Beer Company Red Wagon IPA, Wittekerke, and a seasonal-rotating line for Southampton Publick House (Pumpkin Ale, at visit).
Fourteen bottles are also available.
