Greenport Harbor at The Gate, Release of Havre Rouge 2.0

The Gate poured nine beers from Greenport Harbor Brewing Company on March 29, including Harbor Ale, casked and dry-hopped with Citra; Hoppy Stout, the eighth chapter in Project Hoppiness; and Havre Rouge 2.0, a spicy, cherry-wooded, Belgian-style pale ale.

The latter, released at The Gate’s event, is a revised version of Havre Rouge.

Though Havre Rouge 2.0 possesses a similiar name to its predecessor, it is “a completely different beer,” said Greg Doroski, assistant brewer.

“We changed the recipe and used saison yeast, instead of Abbey,” said Doroski. “We also changed the specialty malts, to boost malt complexity.”

Havre Rouge 2.0 will be limited to a 30-BBL batch, equivalent to 930 gallons, or 60 kegs.
