The sun was hot.
Donavan Hall and Mike Voigt, two-thirds of Rocky Point Artisan Brewers, guided a coterie of volunteers (including Greg Doroski, assistant brewer of Greenport Harbor Brewing Company) at Garden of Eve to a dense patch of two-row barley clustered within green stuff, and creatures resembling dandelions.
The coterie harvested barley and transferred to sacks. Several sacks.
“We want to try to make a batch using only this grain,” said Hall. “We’ll try. But likely we’ll end up mixing with other malts, because of practical considerations.”
