It Stopped

It Stopped

he stood over there
lonesome and wild
jaw squared against my heart
ready to waste my time
i was anxious
and seeing everything that
wasn’t there
my head was on fire
the moon casting ice
he blinked
the sun smarted the horizon
everything went quiet
someone said:
beautiful you and the harvest moon
real thing
