WEHM’s New Release Tuesdays November 2012

November selections for 92.9 and 96.9 WEHM New Release Tuesdays (airing every Tuesday from 9-10pm) are all quite melodic, but in very different ways.

Indie singer/songwriter and Soul Coughing veteran Mike Doughty’s latest is The Flip Is Another Honey, featuring diverse covers, including the John Denver classic “Take Me Home, Country Roads.” Doughty’s interpretation has a bit more grit than Denver’s and country legend Rosanne Cash provides harmony vocals.

British pub rockers Graham Parker & The Rumour have released Three Chords Good, their first collaboration in 32 years featuring the song “Long Emotional Ride.” Starting out in the same scene as Elvis Costello, the tune shares some of the same feel as that legend’s work, with a strong melody and expressive vocals.

Neil Young & Crazy Horse makes its triumphant return with Psychedelic Pill and the song “Walk Like A Giant.” The track is classic NY&CH, with massive distortion, poignant drama and Young’s trademark wailing vocals.
