Twelve-year-old Town of Oyster Bay resident Justin Smith is receiving accolades for his charity work on behalf of the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF). Publicly recognized at the org’s recent awards luncheon, Smith sailed solo on his eight-foot-long sailboat Optimist from Stamford, CT to Oyster Bay to raise money for the NFWF’s “bioextraction” Long Island Sound cleanup project. nfwf.org.
