The Jericho-based Music For Occupy record label is staging the “Hurricane Sandy Relief Conscious Jam” on November 18 from 4-10pm at Mulcahy’s in Wantagh. Proceeds will benefit “Occupy Sandy” relief efforts happening in Long Beach and the surrounding area. This is a benefit for the jam band crowd, featuring DJ Logic, Phish cover band Jellyband, Grateful Dead cover band The Electrix, DJ Nickodemus, Long Beach’s own reggae-rock band Groundswell and local singer-songwriter Charlie Dane. There will be plenty of interplay as Logic, famed for his soul jazz-hip hop fusion, will be spinning alongside members of the bands on the bill.
Co-organizer Jason Samel of Music For Occupy says, “We are continuing to do all that we can and assist in any ways we know possible to help with the relief efforts from the devastation of Hurricane Sandy. We are very happy…that Music For Occupy is producing a relief concert on Long Island, one of the hardest hit areas of the storm.”
Cans of food will be accepted for the RockCanRoll hunger relief organization. Tickets are $20 minimum at the door or can be purchased here.
