British synthpop superstars Depeche Mode return with Delta Machine and its leadoff single “Heaven.” It is classic DM, a haunting minor key tune with an intricate drum machine rhythm, paired with wistful, heart-wrenching vocals and assertive, abrasive guitar.

Musical chameleon David Bowie reappears with The Next Day and the track “Where Are We Now?” The Thin White Duke croons philosophically over a mellow, ambient backing track featuring abundant synth pads and orchestral embellishments, building up to a grand conclusion.
