Within each profession there are standard-bearers of values like transparency and ethics. James M. Wicks champions that as the co-chair of the New York State Bar Association’s Ethics and Professionalism Committee. Chief Judge Jonathan Lippman appointed Mr. Wicks to New York State’s Judicial Institute on Professionalism in the Law. As a partner, he represents businesses, financial institutions and citizens in areas like technology, real estate, insurance, banking issues, business dissolutions, franchise litigation and corporate governance. Aside from law, he is vice chair of the board of the School for Language and Communication Development and writes a column for The Suffolk Lawyer. He’s also the chairman of the Long Island Museum of American Art, History & Carriages and an adjunct professor at St. John’s University School of Law, his Alma mater.
