Erno Laszlo has a pair of products that are part of my new favorite cleansing routine. The Phelityl Pre-Cleansing Oil (6.8oz) is a blend of 13 essential oils and vitamins A, C and E. It is smoothed on the face to dissolve impurities in the pores and followed by washing with one of the Cleansing Bars. I tried the Sea Mud (5.3oz), which includes 26 minerals and Dead Sea mud to detoxify and hydrate. Pevonia’s Phyto-Gel Cleanser provides a nice foam to wash away impurities. It works for all skin types but is an especially great option for oily skin. The flat squeeze bottle is a bit awkwardly shaped, but this skincare line is made with safe and natural ingredients and has the most amazing fresh scent. Saponaria, rosemary, lemon and pine work together to clean deeply without drying. I’ve been a longtime fan of Pevonia and I use this cleanser in the morning because of the energizing scent. 5oz for $39.
Tatcha Pure One-Step Camellia Cleansing Oil is another interesting cleansing method that effectively works as both a makeup remover and a cleanser. It’s massaged into dry skin and rinsed off, leaving behind no makeup, grime or residue. It is mineral oil free so it emulsifies into a milky liquid that rinses away completely. It contains algae and green tea extracts and rice bran oil and is paraben-free. $48 for 5.1oz.
Tara Walker’s Dream Cleansing Balm comes in tubes that provide multi-doses of the product for freshness. I got about five applications from each tube, which holds .34oz each. This mild soft gel boasts a blend of over 100 botanicals from around the world. Cranberry, bilberry and lingonberry seed oils provide vitamin E, antioxidants and Omega 3 essential fatty acids. This cleanser also has a luscious scent and felt luxurious, transforming into a milky texture when mixed with water. One tin of five tubes totaling 1.7oz for $45.
