Mark Aronoff, PhD

The Stony Brook University professor is in same league as Ben Franklin, George Washington and Albert Einstein. Literally. The SUNY Distinguished Professor in the Department of Linguistics joins these luminaries (and many others) with his election to the Cambridge, MA-based American Academy of Arts & Sciences, one of the nation’s most esteemed honorary societies for over 230 years. Aronoff is considered a leader in linguistic research, and is striving to discover basic properties and commonalities of all human languages.
