The industry in which I work is a mixture of classic, trendy, and redundant, so it’s refreshing when something extraordinary and pioneering enters my world. Currently, the beauty consumer does his or her shopping online or in store. The majority of what you encounter while shopping are major cosmetic brands that dominate the shelves, online website banners, and pop ups. Only a small, fortunate group of product junkies or makeup fanatics become knowledgeable and pick up on what I call “Indie,” or independently owned brands. This is due to the fact that they do not have the resources available to obtain prime retail real estate or flashy add campaigns. Originally you had to dig for them or attend makeup artist events and trade shows. However, you no longer need to be a vanity VIP to be on top of the trends, because a new portal has opened.
Individual access is granted through a new online beauty subscription website titled Wantable.com, and it is the only one of its kind. Appropriately named, it provides you with the ability to satisfy your beauty desires. Wantable.com, in my opinion, is exactly what the industry needed-innovation and newness. First, it opens the doors to product lines you would love but never knew existed. Second, as a subscription based service, you receive monthly makeup boxes with 4-6 full size beauty products. Based on a beauty profile you complete, products are hand chosen specifically for you, so you can receive exactly what you love, or want to try. Finally, the boxes are beautifully wrapped and delivered to your door each month without commitment, because beauty retailers are smart-they do not want you to be afraid to shop.
For the month of August, you can find me-the face behind “About Face” at wantable.com, where I blissfully endorse this one of a kind online beauty company that will take beauty consumption into the future. I chose Back to School as a theme, and throughout the month of August, you can catch an instructional video, along with my tips, trends, and of course, how it works at www.wantable.com.
