Temperatures are finally rising and we’ve poured over the event listings to make sure you can enjoy the weather and the weekend. Spring cleaning can wait. Here are five great events going on this weekend that can’t.

Poetry and The Art of Eating

What do poetry and food have in common? More than you may think. A new exhibit at Gallery North explores the ways we express ourselves about food. The opening reception is Friday, but the show runs through May 16.

Live Music with 2 Man Acoustical Jam

Taste some wine while enjoying music from Gino D’Ambrosio and Jim Brown. They’ll play Top 40 hits from the 1960s through today.

American Reflections: Broadway

The Huntington Choral Society performs their spring concert “American Reflections: The Broadway Musical Theater,” with a special guest appearance by the “Red Hot Mamas” dance group. Tickets are $20, students are admitted free.

8th Annual Marci Mazzola Memorial 5K Run/Walk
Sunday, April 27
60 Main Street in Huntington
8 a.m.
Get off that couch and get some exercise during the 5K Run/Walk. Proceeds help establish summer camp scholarships.

Age of Innocence

1 to 5 p.m.
Come to the opening reception of Studio 5404 Art Space’s Age of Innocence. Artists, Lori Horowitz, Barbara Rachko, Vernon McAuley, Michael Cardacino, Joyce Kubat, Visakh Menon, Maria Spector, Amy Swartele will be on hand to talk about the new releases.
