Be A Little Nosy; Check Out Some East End B&Bs Without Staying

If you’ve ever wondered what those bed & breakfasts out on the East End are like, but never had reason to stay, this weekend is your chance to be a little nosy.

A group of East End bed & breakfasts are inviting you to snoop during the Spring House Tour and Love Lane Experience. That’s right you can check out the bed and breakfasts, even enjoy some local food and wine and not have to stay over. Of course, once you see the places you’ll probably want to stay.

The self guided driving tour of three North Fork bed and breakfasts, Mattituck Florist, Lovers Lane and the North Fork Community Theater takes place on June 7 between noon and 5 p.m. Blue Iris, Fig & Olive and Cedar House on the Sound will open their doors to visitors and provide food samples from area restaurants and wine tastings from some of the local wineries.

“We wanted to highlight the best that the North Fork has to offer,” Cassandra Hasse of Fig & Olive said. “We are all using local restaurants and vineyards and breweries. Supporting the local businesses is very important to all of us so we hope to get a lot of references for all those involved.”

Love Lane Kitchen, Orient-By-The-Sea Restaurant, Porto Bello Restaurant, and Amano, Allure and Village Cheese Shoppe will offer tastings from their menus and
Scarola Vineyards, Water’s Crest Winery, Osprey’s Dominion Vineyard and Greenport Harbor Brewery and Roanoke Vineyard will also participate the tastings.

This is the first year the bed and breakfasts have held the tour but they are expecting at least 100 people to stop and take part. They are only selling 200 tickets, though, so make sure you get one. Tickets are $75 and are available on the Fig & Olive website. A portion of the proceeds will go to the North Fork Community Theater.
