Lurking in Sag Harbor

So many things are calling the Hamptons home this summer from charity events to the Kardashians and the new green beauty products store LURKShop.

Anne Nelson Sanford, owner of the new store has had a love for green beauty since she started in Florida in 2001 and 13 years later she’s brought her love of natural beauty products to Long Island where until recently they couldn’t be found.

Perhaps what makes this store so special is the emphasis it places on simple beautiful products. “It’s not about being high end, it’s about beautiful products and companies and people who care about what they’re doing,” said Sanford.

Sanford’s passion for these types of products is part of the reason why she has a hard time choosing which ones are her favorites. “I had a good personal feeling about every brand that came in.” Her personal favorite though is the Wild Honey Apothecary.

As far as customer favorites go, Sanford says that Suntegrity, a natural sunscreen that performs really well seems to be the most popular. “It’s a natural mineral sunscreen that is chemical free and non toxic. It also contains an antioxidant infusion to help calm inflammation and heal and protect the skin. The antioxidant blend provides anti aging benefit and is skin soothing as well. All of Suntegrity’s products are endorsed by the Environmental Working Group for both purity and performance and are safe for children too.”

Beauty products aren’t the only things that can be found at the store. Fun gift items, a local food wheel explaining what to buy at the farm stand, shirts, and bags can also be seen.

With organic products from about 20 different brands, pure products with a lot of passion behind them and a curated shop with something to offer everyone at super approachable prices, LURKShop in Sag Harbor is a place to check out this summer.
