Former New York Governor Mario Cuomo died Thursday at the age of 82. An eloquent public speaker, Cuomo served three terms as governor, from 1983 to1994. In 1984, he delivered the keynote address at the Democratic National Convention gaining widespread recognition for the “Tale of Two Cities,” and his progressive appeal for the advancement of society. Cuomo is survived by his wife of 60 years, Matilda Raffa Cuomo, his children, Margaret (Howard Maier), Andrew (Sandra Lee), Maria (Kenneth Cole), Madeline (Brian O’Donoghue), Christopher (Cristina Cuomo) and 14 grandchildren. Andrew was sworn into office for his second term as NY governor on Thursday.
