Blaze Pizza Opens at Westfield Mall

Blaze Pizza opened a second Long Island restaurant on Thursday.

The newest build-your-own pizza joint, which offers custom-built artisanal pizzas, salads and s’more pies opened at Westfield’s South Shore Mall in Bay Shore at the mall’s main entrance, near JCPenney.

To celebrate the opening the restaurant is offering free build-your own pizzas from 11am to 9:30pm on Friday, Jan. 16 to anyone who follows Blaze Pizza on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook.

Dedicated to the idea of making made-to-order artisanal pizzas, the California-based restaurant chain’s executive chef Bradford Kent created the dough recipe for all of the restaurants and oversees quality of the food even following the production process of ingredients such as olive oil and tomatoes from growing and picking to processing and packaging.

Now in 15 states and the District of Columbia the menu at each Blaze Pizza location includes signature pizzas that guests can order or customize or create their own pie. Each pie is an 11-inch thin-crust pizza ready to eat in 180 seconds

“New Yorkers know great pizza,” Jim Mizes, president and COO of Blaze Pizza said. “The Blaze concept fits perfectly with the New York pace of life, as we offer guests custom-built artisanal pizzas cooked in the time it usually takes to reheat a slice.”

The Westfield’s South Shore Mall location is operated by Lessings Inc., which also runs Mirabelle, View Restaurant, Post Office Café, Maxwell’s, Library Café and Finnegan’s. The first Long Island location opened in West Babylon’s Great Bay Shopping Center during July of 2014.
