Do you have a vintage bicycle and a great story that goes along with it? What about early firefighting equipment or an unusual radio? The History channel documentary reality show “AMERICAN PICKERS” is coming to Long Island and stars Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz are looking for interesting characters with unique items to feature on the show.
“AMERICAN PICKERS” follows Wolfe and Fritz around the country as they look for forgotten relics in junkyards, basements, garages and barns. The men, according to the History channel, are on a mission to recycle America and restore the interesting things they find to their former glory.

In April, the show is filming at various locations throughout New York including in Riverhead. According to the Riverhead Chamber of Commerce, “AMERICAN PICKERS” is looking for vintage bicycles, toys, unusual radios, movie memorabilia, advertising, military items, folk art, vintage musical equipment, vintage automotive items, early firefighting equipment, vintage clothing and pre-50s western gear. So, go through your attic and see if you have anything that could be Wolfe and Fritz’s next treasure.
