The Paramount Celebrates 500th Show on March 24

It’s been less than four years since The Paramount in Huntington opened, but they have been busy years full of success. After opening in September 2011, The Paramount quickly established itself as the premier live entertainment venue on Long Island bringing top artists including Billy Joel, Ed Sheeran, Steve Miller Band and more to the Island. Billboard Magazine named The Paramount the “23rd Hottest Club,” in 2014 and Pollstar Magazine ranked it 12th in its list of highest attended club venues worldwide in 2014.

On Tuesday, March 24 The Paramount celebrates another milestone, its 500th ticketed event since the doors opened with a concert by Long Island-based band Taking Back Sunday.

“The Paramount is my favorite venue to play on Long Island,” Shaun Cooper of Taking Back Sunday said. “ We are so fortunate to have such a great sounding establishment right in our own backyard. We are honored to be the 500th show there.”

To celebrate the 500th show, the first 500 people through the door on Tuesday, March 24 will get a free gift and three people will receive autographed posters from Taking Back Sunday. The concert will be the fourth the band has played at The Paramount.

“This is an exciting milestone for our venue,” The Paramount’s Directors said in a statement. “To host 500 shows in only 3 and a half years is a testament to the strength of the Long Island music market, and to have this show be played by a local Long Island band is even cooler. “We would like to thank all our fans for getting us to this mark and, of course…the hardest working staff in show business.”

The Paramount hosts an average of 200 events every year including concerts, comedy, boxing and other events and they don’t plan on slowing down anytime soon. The Paramount recently announced the construction of radio studio inside the building and this year concerts are expected with Jeff Beck, Michael Bolton, Primus, Slayer, Lyle Lovett / John Hiatt and Bollywood Star – A.R. Rahman.
