Scents of Summer

Summer can’t come soon enough for most Long Islanders. Now that it’s here and wardrobes are turning over, so too should a man’s suite of fragrances.

Bottega Veneta Pour Homme
Extreme Eau de Toilette
Know a man who doesn’t like cologne? This may change his mind. It’s really light and about as unflowerly as it gets—perfect for sultry nights. The main note is labdanum, a resin of a Mediterranean shrub. That lends a leathery aroma, sure to appeal to manly men everywhere. $85: Nordstrom

Eternity Summer for Men
Calvin Klein Eau de Toilette
Calvin Klein comes out with a new summer ver- sion of his classic men’s fragrance every year. The 2015 incarnation is a bit more, well, mas- culine than past iterations. The hero notes are grapefruit and black pepper. After it’s dried down, the driftwood essence brings back memories of Robert Moses State Park. $70: Macy’s

CLEAN for Men Classic
Eau de Toilette
This standout is billed as a summer scent for the “sophisticated, modern gentleman.” It does justice to its name. Bergamot and basil lend an Italian garden aura to this crisp, understated scent. It’s ideal to wear to an outdoor party. $58: Cleanperfume.com
