7th Annual Memorial Day Weekend on the Montauk Green

One of Long Island’s top fine arts festivals is back for a seventh year. Montauk Green will turn into a fabulous outdoor gallery full of extraordinary paintings, sculptures, jewelry, photographs, fiber and wearable art, woodworking and more. You’ll probably find exactly what you’re looking for, but if you don’t, you can commission a piece of art made especially for you.

Is it Mardi Gras or Memorial Day Weekend? Who cares as long you’re celebrating! Kick of the summer with Hoodoo Loungers, the East Coast’s New Orleans-style party band on the Mildred C. Brinn Terrace at Parrish Art Museum.

What would Memorial Day Weekend be without a barbecue? This one is for a great cause, too. All proceeds will support the LGBT Network’s Hamptons LGBT Center in Sag Harbor, which provides a safe space for LGBT youth, adults and LGBT-headed families of the East End throughout the year.

Wine, dogs and cats. We repeat: wine, dogs and cats. Not sold? We’re not sure what’s wrong with you, but there will also be music and hors d’oeurves. Proceeds will go to the Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation, which aims to provide for the ever-growing number of homeless animals and place them in loving forever homes.

Get a history lesson this Memorial Day Weekend. The Montauk Library will toast to the release of the Images of America: Montauk with a book launch party. The celebration will begin with an open house, where people can see the historic and spectacular images featured in the book. Hear from Montauk Library archivist Robin Strong, who authored the book with the library, during a discussion and slideshow presentation at 7:30pm. Signed copies of Images of America: Montauk will be available for purchase, and light refreshments will be served.

Cocktails, hors d’oevres and a silent auction highlight Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic’s (PPHP) East End Benefit. Planned Parenthood Federation of America President Cecile Richards will be on hand, and all proceeds will benefit PPHP’s programs and services in Suffolk County.
