Enter the World of ‘Secrets and Wives’ Star Liza Sandler

Liza Sandler came to Long Island as a child and has never left. The easy-going mother of two, loves everything the Island has to offer from the stunning views, to the food and the shopping. She shares her love of Long Island living and the ups and downs of her own life in the new reality TV show Secrets and Wives. Premiering June 2, Bravo Media’s Secrets and Wives follows the friendships of Sandler and five other affluent North Shore women as they navigate life. I caught up with Sandler as she was getting ready for the show debut and she shared her favorite places to eat, shop and relax on Long Island.

Long Island Pulse: Why did you decide to be part of Secrets & Wives?
I felt like I was kind of at a crossroads. I have two daughters, one in college and one going off to college and I thought, you know what, this would be a great opportunity to get myself out there. I have a lot of positive thoughts to offer others.

Pulse: Which social event are you most looking forward to this summer?
Our show of course, I can’t wait! I’m going to go the Hamptons a lot. There are some parties I’ll be going to and then I’m just looking forward to being out there and sharing the weekend with my kids when they can make it out.

Pulse: What is your go-to place to shop on Long Island?
Southampton is one of my favorite places to shop. And the Americana. So many amazing stores, I’m like a kid in a candy shop. But me personally, I like shopping and I don’t care about the name that much. I like to be a little different and I’m attracted to anything that looks fabulous.

Pulse: What’s your go-to North Shore hangout spot?
We have amazing restaurants out here. I usually go to Bar Frites and Hendricks Tavern.

Pulse: What does your ideal summer weekend look like?
If I’m not out in the Hamptons, I have a beautiful backyard with a swimming pool, or out on my friend Gail’s boat. I’m up for anything though, really easy going.

Pulse: What makes the North Shore special for you?
Originally I’m from Brooklyn, I grew up on Long Island’s South Shore but I brought up my kids here, my home is here, it’s a great community, where I have great relationships. It’s a happy place for me.

Pulse: Are you proud of the show’s representation of your home?
So, far so good. We tell it like it is, we’re honest, we’re real and I think it’s going to portray the area in a good light.
