Oceans of Hope

The Long Island Aquarium and Exhibition Center will be a little bit country on Friday, June 19, when the Riverhead Foundation for Marine Research and Preservation hosts its 15th Annual Oceans of Hope Dinner Gala.

Guests are encouraged to don their Western best to help raise funds to support the Riverhead Foundation for Marine Research and Preservation’s mission of marine mammal and sea turtle rescue and research. Cocktail hour will be held along the river and an open bar will be tended all night. Be festive by sipping a whisky sour or stick to your go-to beverage as you chow down on dishes catered by Atlantis Events.

A mechanical bull is a must for a western-themed party, and the Riverhead Foundation has that covered. Try your luck in the saloon, carnival games or one of the raffles and silent auctions that will go on throughout the night. Rock and country group Southband, the live entertainment, plans to have you dancing all night long.

The foundation hopes to raise $100,000.
