Woman’s Best Friend

8-year-old service dog Figo is one good boy. Not to mention a hero. The golden retriever and his blind owner, Audrey Stone, were walking down a street in Brewster, NY, when Figo noticed a mini-school bus was headed towards them. He calmly sprung into action, leaping in front of the moving bus and taking a blow. Figo underwent surgery and has a leg splint but thankfully both he and Stone are on the mend.

There are now six new ways to get your sugar fix at Starbucks. The popular coffee chain announced the addition of new Frappuccino flavors this week to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the popular Frapp.  The new flavors are caramel cocoa cluster, cinnamon roll, cotton candy, cupcake, lemon bar and red velvet.  All are mostly made of sugar. A venti cinnamon roll comes with 102g of sugar. We know you’re still going to rush out to try one though, so be honest, which one is catching your eye.

The perfect cure for just about any ailment: a picture of our our newborn pudu! He was born in May, stop by and give him a proper welcome.

The Queens Zoo shared the first photo of a baby  deer born in May. According to the Wildlife Conservation Society the baby deer is part of the world’s smallest deer species, the pudu, and will grow to be about 12 to 14 inches in height at the shoulder. Go visit him.
