Shopping for all natural beauty products is easier than ever before. Beau Tea Bar, that online boutique beauty store full of luxurious all natural, all non toxic products you fell in love with more than a year ago, opened a brick and mortar store in Cold Spring Harbor this past spring.
With shelves full of chemical-free nail polishes, lip balms and makeup, a space that is light, airy and cozy and a plethora of in-store events scheduled for fall, Beau Tea Bar is destined to become your non-toxic beauty HQ.
“It’s so hard to shop online for these types of products, I wanted people to have a comfortable space to try them,” founder and curator Marissa Waller said.
Waller hand selects every item in the store, taking the stress out of finding the perfect lip balm for her customers. She receives as many as 15 inquiries a week from companies that want their product in Beau Tea Bar. After narrowing that list down by asking for an ingredient list and making sure the product meets her standards, she measures how effective the product is and if it fits a specific need in the store.
“I don’t want people to be overwhelmed by the choices,” Waller said. “I’ve done the choosing and I’m saying, here is the best, this is what I recommend.”
The selections are very personal for Waller, who fell in love with the beauty lifestyle that’s more Wholefoods than Sephora when she was attorney.
“I had horrible skin and I began working with a holistic doctor who challenged me to find better options and then I became obsessed,” Waller said.
At Beau Tea Bar she’s now taking that obsession and sharing it with others. She wants women to not have to comprise their standards for the chemicals inside their beauty products.
“I think we’re returning to an old way of thinking about beauty but with green science,” Waller said.
