Tunnel to Towers 5K
The annual walk/run honors firefighter Stephen Siller who lost his life on 9/11 helping others. Siller was on his way to play golf after getting off the late shift at Squad 1, Park Slope when he heard a plane had hit the Twin Towers. Finding Battery Tunnel closed, he put on his 60lbs of gear and ran from the Tunnel to the Towers. Today, the Tunnel to Towers 5k raises money for the Stephen Siller Foundation.
