Santa has made his trip to Herald Square and the holiday season is underway. On Wednesday, Dec. 2, the tree in Rockefeller Center will be lit for the first time. Holiday Light Show
Not quite a tree lighting, but the dazzling displays expected at the Holiday Light Show to benefit the Girl Scouts of Suffolk County make it worth a mention and visit. Drive through a mile-long, wooded trail filled with bright lights and holiday vignettes. $20 per vehicle with $3 service fee (service fee is waived if ticket is purchased by Dec. 10).

The Annual Christmas Tree Lighting and Holiday Extravaganza

Annual Christmas Tree Lighting in the Vanderbilt Mansion Courtyard

Garden City Village Tree Lighting
An annual tradition for more than 60 years, the tree lighting held at the iconic gazebo across from the Garden City Hotel is a family favorite. Hot chocolate and cookies are accompanied by performances from local musicians. As the main event, Santa arrives via fire truck to help the mayor light the tree.
