Why Alcantara loves it: “The mask helps improve skin tone, reduce wrinkles, and help heal skin issues like acne and eczema.”

What you need:
1 teaspoon grounded turmeric root
1 teaspoon honey
1 teaspoon yogurt or almond milk

What to do:
Combine grounded turmeric root, honey and yogurt or almond milk.
Mix into a smooth paste and apply to a freshly washed face.
Enjoy the detoxing, anti-inflammatory and nourishing benefits of the turmeric mask for 20 minutes.
Wash off with warm water followed by a cool splash of water before patting the skin dry.

Alcantara’s pro tip: “To increase the relaxation factor while the mask is doing its work, place two seeped and chilled chamomile teabags as an eye compress. This will help reduce any swelling or eye redness. Rolling a jade roller upwards on the face can also unblock the facial meridians and nourishes the face with fresh blood, thus improving skin health.

Skin Super Food Mask by Nichola Weir, Pacific Touch NYC

Why Weir loves it: “This mask will help revive dry skin, reduce redness and fight breakouts. Each of the ingredients is a renowned skin superfood when taken internally or applied topically and has its own laundry list of amazing benefits. Avocado is a nourishing healthy fat that revives dry skin; turmeric has anti-inflammatory properties to reduce redness; aloe vera takes “heat” out of the skin and is very hydrating; and parsley helps lighten discoloration and fights breakouts.”

What you need:
1/2 ripe avocado
1/4 cup fresh aloe pulp
Small bunch parsley
1/2 inch of turmeric root

What to do:
Crush parsley and turmeric root using a mortar and pestle until you get a paste.
Cut aloe leaf and scrap pulp (approximately 1/4 cup) and add to paste.
Mash in 1/2 a ripe avocado and mix well.
Apply to face and décolletage for 5-15 minutes and then rinse well with warm water.

Weir’s pro tip: “I always encourage people to do a patch test when applying topical ingredients to test for allergies and sensitivity.”
