Why Go: Run, jump, climb and crawl over to the 5k obstacle course race. This “exercise in disguise” includes the run, a live DJ, beer after completion and an official survival race dog tag. Go.
What: T.E.A.L. Ovarian Cancer Research and Awareness Happy Hour
When: Friday, May 6, 4pm
Why Go: This 3rd annual fundraising event is in memory of Annie Roberts, a Long Island music teacher and cancer awareness advocate who passed away in 2014 from ovarian cancer. Erin Colton of News12 Long Island will guest host while attendees enjoy a buffet, special drinks, music, raffles, prizes and more. Go.
What: 33rd Annual Dutch Festival
Where: Hofstra University
When: Saturday, May 7, 11am-4pm
Why Go: Bring the kids, friends and family to view the tulip display, listen to music, watch theater performances, see art exhibits and demonstrations and play carnival games. There will be food and shopping vendors, as well as live jazz music. Go.
What: Derby Day
Where: The Roof
When: Saturday, May 7, 1pm
Why Go: Watch the Kentucky Derby in style at The Roof. The cocktail menu will feature Bulleit whiskey concoctions, derby-inspired bites (think chicken-fried oysters and derby pie) and a Southern Jazz DJ spinning throughout the day. Derby attire and hats are strongly encouraged! Go.

Why Go: Join Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation for their first Putt Putt for Pits. A Pit Bull awareness event featuring an awesome mini golf course, bbq, wine and beer. All proceeds will go towards pit bull rescue, training, outreach and medical needs. Adoptable pets from the shelter will attend. Tickets must be purchased in advance. Go.
What: ARTworks 2016 Gala
Where: East Wind
When: Saturday, May 7, noon-6pm
Why Go: Grammy-winning composer, producer, guitarist, co-founder/chairman of We Are Family Foundation and honorary chair Nile Rodgers will give a keynote address. This Pulse sponsored event features cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, dinner, dancing and music by One Love to liven up the night. There will also be live and silent auctions. Go.
