2016 Long Island Memorial Day Parades

It’s not 4th of July without fireworks or a summer Saturday without a trip to the beach and it’s not Memorial Day without a parade. Break out the red, white and blue to honor our heroes at these 2016 Long Island Memorial Day Parades.

Amityville
When: Monday, May 30 at 10am
Where: Parade begins at Village Triangle and will make a stop at Amityville Cemetery where a short ceremony will take place

Bay Shore
When: Monday, May 30 at 10am
Where: Parade starts at Lanier and Main St. in Bay Shore

Bellmore
When: Monday, May 30 at 10am
Where: Newbridge Road School to Bellmore Ave.

Bohemia
When: Monday, May 30 at 10am
Where: Corner of Ocean Ave. and Hubal St.

Central Islip
When: Monday, May 30 at 9:30am
Where: Clift St. & Carleton Ave.

East Rockaway
When: Monday, May 30 at 10am
Where: 164 Main St.

Farmingdale
When: Monday, May 30 at 10am
Where: Parade will assemble at Thomas Powell Blvd. and Yoakum St. and will head south on Main St. to the grandstand in front of Village Hall

Farmingville
When: Monday, May 30 at 11am
Where: 875 Horseblock Road; ceremonies follow at Farmingville-Holtsville Veterans’ Memorial Park when the Farmingville Historical Society and the Farmingville Hills Chamber unveil a revitalized memorial

Garden City
When: Monday, May 30
Where: Parade begins at Cherry Ave. and 10th and ends at the war monuments by the Garden City Library

Glen Cove
When: Monday, May 30 at 11am
Where: Ceremony at Monument Park on Cottage Row & Ford St.

Hempstead
When: Sunday, May 29 at 2pm
Where: Parade assembles at American Legion Hall on Marvin Ave. and proceeds down Greenwich St. to a cemetery where people will place wreaths on a Civil War Monument

Levittown
When: Monday, May 30 at 10am
Where: Island Trees Middle School

Malverne
When: Monday, May 30 at 10am
Where: Parade begins by heading west on Church St. There will be a stop at Hempstead and Lexington so the Veteran’s Organizations and Village Officials can place a wreath at Harris Memorial Field

Massapequa Park
When: Monday, May 30 at 10am
Where: Route begins at Broadway and Commonwealth Ave. and ends in Brady Park, where a memorial service and wreath laying ceremony will take place

Merrick
When: Monday, May 30 at 9:30am
Where: Parade begins at Merrick Ave. and Veterans Plaza and ends with a ceremony at Merrick’s Veteran Memorial Park

New Hyde Park
When: Saturday at 9:30am
Where: Jericho Tpke to Central Blvd to Memorial Park

Northport
When: Monday, May 30 at 10am
Where: Village Park

Plainview-Old Bethpage
When: Monday, May 30 at 9:30am
Where: Old Country Road to the town park on Washington Ave.

Port Washington
When: Monday, May 30 at 10am
Where: Parade starts on Port Washington Blvd. and continues down Main St. to the John Philip Sousa Memorial Bandshell in Sunset Park

Rockville Centre
When: Monday, May 30 at 10am
Where: Begins at N. Washington St. and Martins Lane and goes through Rockville Town Square

Seaford

Where: Verity Plaza

Valley Stream
When: Monday, May 30 at 9am
Where: Corner of Rockaway Parkway and Wheeler Ave.; ceremonies follow at Veterans’ Memorial Plaza
