Why Go: Flee from brain-eating zombies through three miles of obstacles and mud pits, sponsored by The Survival Race LLC. After the 5k, celebrate with food, music, dancing, beer, contests and face painting. Go.
What: 7th Annual Montauk Music Festival
When: Friday, May 19-Sunday, May 22
Why Go: Music lovers and performers will unite for four days of tunes by up-and-coming artists on the Island’s East End. 100 musicians will jam out across a full swath of sound stylings, including alternative rock, reggae, blues, folk, pop, Americana, jazz, bluegrass, flamenco, rap, hip hop, country and metal. Go.
What: All-Breed Conformation Show, Obedience and Rally Trials
Where: Planting Fields Arboretum
When: Friday, May 20 and Saturday, May 21
Why Go: The Ladies Kennel Association of America promotes caring dog ownership, relationships and information about responsible and knowledgeable breeding. Come watch their annual display of puppy prowess as dogs jump, crawl and scamper their way through agility courses and tests of athleticism. Go.
